Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022
This year, the focus for the Government of Canada-Get Cyber Safe is "Ruining a cyber criminal's day" by teaching Canadians how to fight back against phishing scams.
Phishing is when criminals use fake emails to lure you into clicking on them and handing over your personal information, or installing malware on your device. It’s easy to avoid a scam email, but only once you know what to look for. Phishing is the third most common scam in Canada.
During the month of October, 小优视频 will focus on empowering the university community with knowledge about different aspects of phishing scams to help the university community to prepare against, or recover from, all types of phishing.

Weekly Themes for 2022
The month of October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month which is recognized internationally. This year the focus will be on how to continue to stay safe online.
Even the savviest tech expert can fall for a phishing attempt. This week, we’ll focus on how to easily identify a phishing attack and actionable steps to take to recover from a phishing attack.
The more you know about phishing, the easier it is to spot. This week, we’ll educate the 小优视频 community about how to secure your inbox and the different phishing trends.
Preventing a phishing scam is easier than dealing with one. This week's focus is on how to ruin a cyber criminal’s day by taking steps to protect ourselves online.
Together, we can fight phishing. This week, we’ll encourage the 小优视频 community to teach other how to ruin a cyber criminal’s day by providing information they can easily share with colleagues, friends, relatives and neighbours.
